DOMAINE DES JEUNES POUSSES
Émeringes
Beaujolais

Hugo and Angela met in 2017 studying oenology in Dijon. Between the two, they’ve had apprenticeships and worked stages at some of the most renowned Domaine in Burgundy and across France such as Romanée Conti, Comte de Vogüe and Domaine Leroy in Burgundy as well as Stephan Tissost in Jura, just to name a few.

Eventually they ended up putting down roots in Beaujolais and today Angela and Hugo are the first co-managers of the 5.2ha Jeunes Pousses estate in Émeringes.

Jeunes Pousses meaning “young shoots”, was created by Thibault Liger-Belair, with the ambition to create an estate that can be used as a vocational vineyard for young winegrowers before they set up on their own.

The vineyard work follows the principles of biodynamic farming and vines are certified organic since 2018.

In the cellar they follow a rather Burgundian approach, favouring whole cluster fermentations and vinifying each parcel on its own with the end goal to reveal the different terroirs in and around Émeringes and Chénas.
